San Martino delle Scale Abbey reveals its treasures: a Sunday of visits

San Martino delle Scale Abbey, the only still active in Sicily, reveals its treasures. On Sunday, December 10th, and every second Sunday of the month, guided tours will be available at 3pm and 5pm to discover the history of one of Italy’s largest abbeys, with its 22,000 square meters of extension. Visitors will be able to visit the monumental staircase, the cloister, the museum, the pharmacy, the abbot’s rooms, the monastic refectory, and more. There will also be tastings with the master brewers of “Hora Benedicta”, who have created two exceptional abbey beers – light and dark – to be enjoyed with local cheeses and sweets. According to Don Riccardo Tumminello, the Abbey’s forester and event organizer, “There is no better opportunity for those who want to experience Benedictine spirituality and take a dip into the past than to spend a day with us at the abbey, to discover its beauties, treasures, and to get to know our beers, which traditionally invite meditation.” Reservation is required at [email protected] or by sending a WhatsApp message to 3473187857.
