Rough sea at the Aeolian Islands, waste ship forced to leave Lipari dock

In the Aeolian Islands, the strong east wind is causing problems for the port structures and disrupting maritime connections. The Green Fleet waste ship had to leave the dock in Sottomonastero on Lipari due to rough seas. The Liberty Lines hydrofoils are facing difficulties but are still running to and from Milazzo, using the alternative port of Punta Scaliddi. Some routes to Vulcano, Lipari, and Salina have been suspended, and connections to the smaller islands have been interrupted. There are risks in docking at Stromboli and Panarea, and some ferry services have been suspended. The Laurana ship will be out of service for about ten days due to hygiene and health issues. Passengers and vehicles are leaving earlier than scheduled to avoid rough seas, and there has been flooding along the coast in Canneto.
