Robbery at a supermarket in Palermo, arrested after the heist

The mobile unit of the Carabinieri in Palermo arrested a 21-year-old man accused of aggravated robbery. The young man, with his face covered and armed with a gun, along with an accomplice, robbed a supermarket, managing to steal over 1,000 euros. They fled on an electric bicycle but were spotted by an off-duty carabinieri who called for backup. The carabinieri quickly located the robbers, who lost control of the bicycle and were apprehended after a struggle. The suspect was placed under house arrest with an electronic monitoring bracelet, and an investigation is ongoing to locate the accomplice.
