What is the Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro

The Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro in Sicily is the first oriented nature reserve in the region created in 1981: a protected natural area of about 1700 hectares that extends between San Vito Lo Capo and Castellammare del Golfo in the province of Trapani.
The Reserve is open every day from 7.00 to 19.30, except on days of weather alert.

Where is the Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro located?

The Reserve has two entrances.
One is located in the north about 12 km from San Vito Lo Capo.
The other to the south about 1 km from Scopello.
The most convenient is the South one where there is also a large parking lot.

Useful info

Pets are not allowed inside the Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro (Trapani).
A good pair of comfortable walking shoes is recommended.
A water reserve adapted to the season.
You can mainly go hiking, in fact there are 3 trekking trails of varying difficulty.

Il sentiero costiero

It is the easiest, least demanding and is about 7 km long that can be covered in 2 hours.
You can also visit all the coves that you meet along the way and the landscape that dominates and that of the low scrub, thyme and broom, ash and almond trees, carob trees and disa in an uncontaminated nature adjacent to you.
The least crowded period is that of Spring and Autumn.
The coastal path path is fascinating in its facet of contrasting colors.
Scattered throughout the Reserve there are also equipped areas where to stop.
