Rescued: Boat with 40 migrants found off Lampedusa

The Italian coast guard ship, Diciotti, rescued a small boat with 40 Sudanese, Eritrean, and Ethiopian migrants, including one woman, off the coast of Lampedusa. The group has already been taken to the Favarolo pier. All migrants reported that they had departed from Sfax, Tunisia, and paid between 1,500 and 2,000 Tunisian dinars each. Currently, there are 175 migrants at the Lampedusa hotspot, including 16 unaccompanied minors. Yesterday, there were a total of 6 landings with 188 people. Following the transfer of 63 refugees yesterday, today, the ferry Sansovino will transport 120-130 individuals to Porto Empedocle, as ordered by the Prefecture of Agrigento. Among the group to be transferred are also 16 unaccompanied minors.
