Renovation of San Giuseppe in Acireale begins; funding to come from faithful donations.

The countdown has begun for the extraordinary maintenance and redevelopment of the church of San Giuseppe di Acireale and its bell tower. The project is funded 70% by the 8xThousand of the Catholic Church and 30% by a fundraising campaign initiated by the San Mauro Abate parish community. The estimated cost is around 150,000 euros, and the works are expected to be completed by 2024. The church is a reference point for the community of Aci Castello and is known for its ancient artwork and contemporary paintings. The renovation and consolidation of the areas used as the parish community’s Oratory, which began last June, is also expected to be completed by January 2024. The project, costing approximately 170,000 euros, will be financed in the same way as the San Giuseppe church. Monsignor Raciti expressed his gratitude for the completion of these projects and emphasized the impact they will have on promoting contemplation and fraternal encounter within the community.
