Rebellious children of Sperone beside the resurrected Rosalia

The article describes the explosion of “Il Festino dello Sperone,” a complex, difficult, and effervescent event in the outskirts of Palermo. This event brought a new hope to the city as 400 rebellious children paraded with the resurrected and restored “Carro” by artist Jannis Kounellis. The celebration honored the outskirts of Palermo with a different event, highlighting the beauty and potential of the neighborhood. The residents of Sperone, led by the school and Principal Antonella De Bartolo, were the first to witness and participate in the restoration project of some of Santa Rosalia’s triumphal floats. After the event, the resurrected Carro by Kounellis will be placed under the mural “Le Rosalie ribelli” and entrusted to the care of Sperone. The day ended with an invitation to wear ivory, white or cream-colored clothes as a symbol of writing a new page of resurrection for art and the neighborhood, bringing a new hope to Palermo. This event symbolizes a cooperation between different realities in the city, emphasizing the true meaning of the festivities of Santa Rosalia.
