Police in Gela carry out sweep: 22 people reported, one arrest

In the past week, the police have conducted special territorial control services in Gela to combat theft and illegal commercial activities. The services were ordered by the police chief Pinuccia Albertina Agnello, following the instructions of the prefect at the public order and safety committee. The police officers and crime prevention unit were engaged in the operations, including several checkpoints throughout the city. The administrative police officers performed checks on illegal commercial activities, resulting in 890 people and 470 vehicles being inspected. The operations also led to the confiscation of cannabinoids and the arrest of one individual. Furthermore, the administrative police carried out inspections at 17 commercial establishments, resulting in the issuance of six administrative fines for violations of public safety regulations and illegal occupation of public space.
