Plaster falls in a Syracuse school, student gets minor scrapes during class

The plaster detached from the ceiling of a classroom at the Lombardo Radice comprehensive school in Siracusa while classes were in progress. Some small pieces fell on a student who suffered minor abrasions, but did not need to go to the emergency room. The fire department intervened and secured the classroom. It is possible that the incident is related to water infiltrations due to the bad weather that also hit Siracusa.

The school principal, Alessandra Servito, evacuated the school and requested a complete inspection of the entire institute. Technicians are expected to carry out the inspection tomorrow. The president of the school council, Antonio Cappuccio, recalled that partial interventions were carried out by the Municipality on the terrace last year.
