Pasquale Portera dies from heart attack after Eraclea Cup at Gela kart track.

The motorsport world mourns the death of Pasquale Portera, 58 years old, from Cefalù, regional coordinator of Motornext. He had worked until yesterday (March 17), coordinating the Eraclea Cup at the Gela Karting Track, where various mini-gp, motard, pit bike, and competition scooter pilots took part. Pasquale Portera had strongly desired the event and had also awarded the winning pilots in the various categories, but he was struck by a heart attack during the night. The news of his death was announced by the managers of the Gela karting track through a post: “We are shocked… there are no words. We said goodbye yesterday afternoon, hugging and planning another motorsport event. This morning, a cold shower left us speechless. We are consoled only by the fact that Pasquale Portera, Motornext regional coordinator, ended his earthly life doing what he loved until the end: being on the track.” The funeral will be held tomorrow (Tuesday, March 19) at 11 am at the San Francesco Parish in Cefalù.
