Partinico investigation and Silver Nest of bribes: Di Giovanni placed under house arrest
The precautionary needs have weakened: with this justification, the judge of the court of Palermo granted house arrest to Gaetano Di Giovanni, commander of the municipal police and chief of staff of Mayor Francesco Miccichè, who was arrested on April 11 on charges of corruption.
Di Giovanni, 59 years old, at the time of the events, namely in the summer of 2021, head of the socio-sanitary district of Agrigento, is accused of favoring the assignment of home care services for elderly non-self-sufficient individuals (for a total of 204,051 euros) to the company Medea and the assignment of social-care services in the municipalities of Santa Elisabetta and Agrigento (for a total amount of 89,355 euros) to the coop Nido d’Argento, receiving from the company’s representatives, in at least three installments, the total sum of 7,500 euros.
