Panic due to a fire in Regalbuto, building evacuated

Fear this afternoon in Regalbuto, due to a fire in an apartment on the fifth floor of a building on Palermo Street. The alarm went off at 3pm, with the residents calling the firefighters after the fire had already spread. The firefighters from the Leonforte detachment arrived and extinguished the flames, which had devastated the home. They also rescued two trapped pets. As a safety measure, all residents of the building were evacuated. There were no injuries or poisonings reported. Investigations by the carabinieri are underway to determine the cause, with the most likely hypothesis being a short circuit.
