Palermo’s Serpotta Musica Antiqua ensemble at Oratorio dell’Immacolatella

They met in Amsterdam, the European capital of baroque music, and decided to join forces: four musicians from different backgrounds and studies, united by their passion for precious programs and less explored authors. For the Primaestate season of the Kandinskij Association, directed by Aldo Lombardo, the Serpotta Musica Antiqua ensemble will perform a concert next Sunday, May 5, at 7 pm, at the Serpottian oratory of the Immacolatella in Palermo.
Directed by Mexican harpsichordist Daniela Lopez Quesada, the ensemble is completed by Alicia Hernandez Hinojal (flute), Álvaro Muñoz Perera (baroque violin), and Héloïse Godefroi (cello); the four musicians will perform a program dedicated to the music of Bach, Händel, and lesser-known contemporary authors such as Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, Isabella Leonarda, and Charles Dieupart. The Serpotta will return in December with the Cantatas by Bach, a concert included in the winter season of the Association.
