Palermo’s Cannizzaro high school students protest due to excessively hot classrooms

Students at the Cannizzaro State Scientific High School in Palermo protested due to the excessive heat in the classrooms. They gathered in the gymnasium courtyard to demand an early dismissal from school. The school principal had already allowed early dismissals the day before when temperatures reached 36 degrees Celsius with high humidity. However, today the temperature was 32 degrees Celsius, making it slightly more bearable. The students decided to leave their classrooms without authorization and some called their parents to pick them up. The school principal mentioned that if there was a regulation mandating early dismissals at a certain temperature, she would follow it, but currently, no such regulation exists.
