Palermo parking attendant charged €20 per car and used fake ID: report

A 59-year-old man from Palermo was caught pretending to be an authorized parking attendant in Bologna. He had a fake ID card and was caught by the police a few days prior. He was spotted by the carabinieri near the trade fair area, where many drivers park their cars daily. The man showed his fake ID card and issued tickets, even though they had no validity, in exchange for payment. The military discovered that he was charging twenty euros per parking spot, making hundreds of euros illegally. When confronted by the carabinieri, he admitted that he was doing it to survive and stated, “I have to eat.” However, he was still reported and the money he had in his pocket, approximately thirty euros, was seized.
