Palermo: Guerrilla for San Giuseppe’s Flames – Attacks on Firefighters and Police officers.

The night before Saint Joseph’s Day ended in Palermo with 31 interventions carried out by the fire brigade personnel. Seven interventions were related to extinguishing bonfires in different areas of the city. However, there were more than a dozen interventions for waste fires in various zones of the city. Several interventions were carried out with the assistance of law enforcement, in some cases even in riot gear. The helicopter of the State Police was crucial for assisting in the area. Unfortunately, there were moments of aggression towards the firefighters and law enforcement officers. Damage was done to the windows and windshield of two fire brigade vehicles.
