Palermo: Fake Facebook Profiles in the Name of Cultural Assessor
Two fake profiles on Facebook using the name of Giampiero Cannella, councilor for cultural policies in Palermo and regional coordinator of Fratelli d’Italia in western Sicily, have been brought to his attention by some of his friends who received numerous friend requests. One of the fake profiles uses a clearly copied photo from his real account and already has over 100 friends. The other profile does not have a photograph. Yesterday, Councilor Cannella decided to report the incident to the Cybersecurity Operational Center of the Postal Police, who immediately launched an investigation to identify the authors of the fake profiles.
