Palermo celebrates IDesign Week with a fusion of art and light.
LiD, a company specialized in lighting design and interior lighting, will host the Prismatica exhibition as part of the inauguration of the LiDArk showroom. This immersive journey of lights and sounds, created by artist Dario Denso Andriolo, is one of the main previews of the Sicilian Design Week, which focuses on the theme Inside/Outside. The exhibition aims to showcase the phases of a project and explore the creative process from conception to realization.
During the exclusive inaugural event on October 19, visitors will experience a total immersion in human emotions through monochromatic rooms filled with vibrant colors and captivating sounds, along with luminous sculptures. The exhibition will offer both a physical and sensory journey, guiding guests to a second video installation in the new LiDArK showroom. This second installation will complete Dario Denso Andriolo’s artistic concept, designed in harmony with the space of the store. It aims to transport spectators into a world of visual sensations, highlighting the role of light and color in shaping moods and transforming physical and emotional spaces.
Dario Denso Andriolo is an internationally renowned artist and designer with a career marked by innovative artistic achievements. Through his two works in Prismatica, he aims to challenge conventions and take the audience on a captivating journey through human emotions.
The purpose of the entire event is to emphasize the importance of light in shaping people’s sensations and moods, aligning with LiD’s mission to create atmospheres and accompany people’s daily lives through lighting. Following the exclusive inaugural event, which is invitation-only, the exhibition can be visited during the design week at the LiDArk showroom in the afternoon. The artwork, which uses light as a performative tool, is best viewed in the absence of natural light, so it is recommended to visit the exhibition after 6:00 PM.
