Open Day at Policlinico di Palermo for patients with psoriasis and joint pain
The upcoming 13th of November, from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, at the Rheumatology unit of the Policlinico of Palermo, there will be an Open Day dedicated to patients with cutaneous psoriasis and concomitant joint pain.
The initiative, organized by Professor Giuliana Guggino, head of the unit, with the collaboration of her team, will be an opportunity to raise awareness about the complex condition of psoriatic arthritis and to promote the early identification of transition forms from psoriasis to psoriatic arthritis. Admission is free. Interested individuals can go to Building 2a of the Policlinico, in Piazza delle Cliniche, 2, and register with the staff. For further information, you can write to the following email address: [email protected]
During the Open Day, participants will have the opportunity to meet with rheumatology specialists who will provide detailed information, as well as suggestions on how to best manage symptoms and improve their quality of life. There will also be moments of discussion and dialogue, where patients can share their experiences and ask questions to the experts.
“Psoriatic arthritis – explains Professor Guggino – is a chronic inflammatory disease that can have a significant impact on patients’ quality of life. It often presents with painful symptoms and functional limitations, affecting both physical and psychological well-being. It is essential, therefore, that patients with cutaneous psoriasis learn about the early signs of psoriatic arthritis, in order to receive timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment. That is why we invite you to participate in this initiative, which represents an important step towards a greater understanding and management of the psoriatic disease.” The event aims not only to increase awareness about this condition but also to create a supportive and solidarity environment between patients and healthcare professionals.
