“No to the bad nightlife”: Protest march by vacationers and residents in Stromboli

#Messina
The mayor’s new ordinance for regulating the opening hours of businesses and for musical and dance events is being contested on almost all the Aeolian Islands. The protest began on Stromboli, where locals and vacationers staged a demonstration with signs to express their disagreement with the new, unpopular hours, considering that the islands also have a “nightlife”. The ordinance dictates the closure of establishments serving food and beverages by 2:00 am and prohibits their opening before 6:00 am, excluding nightclubs, dance halls, and similar activities. It also sets specific hours for musical entertainment, with restrictions on noise levels.
