Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run in Marsala, driver flees, victim dies in Villa Sofia hospital

After over forty days in a coma, Fausto Teri, 48 years old, has passed away. He was involved in a hit-and-run accident on September 7th, on the seafront of Marsala, in front of the port, where he was hit by a white Jeep while driving his scooter with his son. Teri suffered serious injuries, while the driver of the Jeep fled the scene and has not yet been identified.

After being taken by ambulance to the emergency room of the hospital in Marsala, Teri was transferred to Villa Sofia hospital in Palermo. He had just turned 48 last Tuesday. Two weeks after the accident, a brother of the victim, Paolo, made an appeal to identify the hit-and-run driver.

Who was the victim

Fausto Teri was fairly well-known in Marsala, especially for his musical activities. He was a self-taught drummer and had been playing since he was a teenager. Since the 90s, he had been part of various local rock bands. He leaves behind a wife and a minor son, the one who was with him on the scooter on September 7th and thankfully remained unharmed.
