Monreale: Concert-Meditation for Don Pino on Tgs and Gds.it

Music has the power to bring us closer to heaven. Just like the countless people who turn to Father Pino Puglisi for help, gratitude, and prayers, looking up at the same sky. It’s a continuous dialogue between the earthly world and those who have been taken from life through violence. Tonight, through music and meditation, they will once again try to maintain that connection with 3P. On the 30th anniversary of the martyrdom of Blessed Giuseppe Puglisi, the Father Nostro welcoming center, founded by the priest of Brancaccio, has organized a concert-meditation in the Monreale Cathedral. The title is emblematic, referring to a biblical passage from the Song of Songs: “For love is as strong as death…”. The event will be broadcast live on Gds.it and Tgs, channel 12 on digital terrestrial television, starting at 8:53 PM. The TV event will be hosted by Tgs artistic director, Salvo La Rosa. Various initiatives have been undertaken to date, starting from Piazza Padre Pino Puglisi, including a candlelight procession on September 14th that passed through Brancaccio in memory of the blessed. From the place where the priest was assassinated by the mafia on the evening of September 15, 1993, to Via Fichidindia, in front of the land where the parish complex strongly desired by Don Pino when he was still alive should be built. There have been exhibitions, itineraries, seminars, and meetings. And the solemn Mass in the Cathedral presided over by the President of the Italian Bishops’ Conference, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi. The Palermo Sinfonietta orchestra, conducted by Don Maurizio Lieggi, will perform at the Monreale Cathedral. The concert-meditation is directed by Alessandro Spinnato. The reciting voices will be Alessandro Piscitelli, Sara Barbone, and Vittorio Magazzù. The Father Nostro Welcoming Center is organizing the event in collaboration with the Archdioceses of Monreale and Palermo and the Monreale Cathedral parish.
