Misilmeri, young man in critical condition after being hit with crutch during parking dispute

First a heated discussion, then kicks and punches. Violence erupted in the streets of Misilmeri: a 29-year-old Romanian man was seriously injured and hospitalized.

The attack took place in the central area of the town, where two 25 and 32-year-old men approached the victim, contesting the way he had parked his car, which had blocked their passage. The argument quickly escalated, and the two began to hit him in the face and legs, using crutches. The bleeding 25-year-old managed to escape and take refuge in the carabinieri barracks in Misilmeri, telling the soldiers what had just happened.

A hunt for the attackers immediately started, while the 118 emergency services were called to the scene. The young man was rescued and urgently taken to the hospital: he suffered serious injuries all over his body and was admitted with a reserved prognosis. The escape of the attackers didn’t last long: both were soon located and arrested for aggravated personal injuries and threats.
