Mayor of Giardini Naxos, Giorgio Stracuzzi, deemed incompatible by Messina court

The civil section of the Messina court declared the mayor of Giardini Naxos, Giorgio Stracuzzi, incompatible and therefore disqualified, and ordered him to pay legal costs of 7,616 euros. This decision was made due to a project contract awarded to the mayor’s brother, who had won a bidding competition. The issue was raised by councilor Agatino Bosco and his colleague Francesco Palumbo, and followed by lawyer Lucio Fresta. This comes after the mayor had recently appointed a new councilor in his administration.
