Mayor of Cerda: “Some refuse to accept the election result and do everything to tarnish my integrity”
Salvo Geraci, mayor of Cerda and member of the Regional Anti-Mafia Commission, defends himself against accusations of trying to impose a procession route under the house of a mafia boss. He states that the conclusion of the investigations and the communication of assurance are not convictions, but rather serve to defend him against defamatory accusations with which the mafia has no involvement. Geraci claims that someone in Cerda is not accepting the outcome of the vote and is trying to tarnish his reputation. He denies ever giving indications about procession routes or the location where they should stop. He insists that he is focused on his duties as mayor and parliamentarian, and expects the judiciary to clarify the situation. He criticizes his colleagues for not staying quiet and hopes to come out of this with his head held high, as he is a respectable person who loves the community he serves.
