Mascalucia: Referee assaulted after youth soccer match

A referee was assaulted on a football field in Mascalucia, at the end of a youth match, and ended up in hospital. The president of the National Amateur League of Sicily, Sandro Morgana, called the incident “shameful and unworthy” and expressed the league’s support for the young referee. He also thanked the referees and stated that the regional committee has been fighting against violence on the field for years. The league is committed to combating these episodes of violence, which should not be a part of the sports world.
