Long waiting lists in Messina: starting May, clinics will open on Sundays too

From May, clinics will be open 7 days a week, from 8 am to 8 pm. This will allow patients to receive medical visits and exams even on Sundays. The decision was made by the Asp of Messina to reduce long waiting lists that are causing difficulties for patients. The commissioner of the Asp, Giuseppe Cucci, announced the new company strategies thanks to additional regional resources.

Cucci explained that the Region will provide the necessary resources and data collection has already been completed to identify where to intervene and which waiting lists are the longest. “Long waits will no longer be tolerated, especially in situations of serious diagnosis – the commissioner assured -. Our clinics will remain open from 8 am to 8 pm from Monday to Sunday. Starting next month, we will launch the new services and we expect to achieve optimal results, maybe between July and September.”
