Lampedusa hotspot emptied, no difficulties or collapse, says police chief

The Lampedusa hotspot has been emptied, with only 198 migrants remaining in the Imbriacola structure, including 120 unaccompanied minors. Some of the remaining migrants cannot be transferred due to ongoing police verifications and judicial proceedings, while others are witnesses to incidents being investigated by the authorities. They will also be transferred to other destinations in the coming days. The police and the Red Cross have managed the situation without difficulties, and the hosting facility has never reached its capacity limit.
