Investigation launched after 76-year-old dies following green code assignment at hospital in Caltanissetta

An investigation has been opened by the Prosecution Office of Caltanissetta to shed light on the death of Angelo Lombardo, a 76-year-old man who died suddenly on April 21 at Sant’Elia Hospital. The man’s family, represented by lawyer Giuseppe Dacquì, has filed a complaint and an autopsy has already been conducted. According to the daughter’s account, on April 21 the father experienced strong pain in his shoulder and ribs. The ambulance allegedly took a slow and silent route to the emergency room, where he was assigned a low priority code. Despite visible suffering, the man was not seen by a doctor until 16:30, and it was only after further tests that his condition was revealed to be grave. He died suddenly at around 19:00, and his family is demanding answers.
