Hacker in Gela betrayed by a porn site

An hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, in front of the Court of Review of Naples, which will decide on the request to grant release on bail or house arrest to Carmelo Miano, the young hacker from Gela arrested on October 2 for multiple violations of the Justice Ministry’s computer network. At the moment, the suspect remains in jail. The investigating judge of Naples, Enrico Campoli, rejected the request made by Gioacchino Genchi, Miano’s lawyer, to grant house arrest. The young programmer, 24 years old and still under the employ of NttData, a cybersecurity giant, faces charges of aggravated unauthorized access to computer systems and distribution of malware and software programs in concert. After his arrest, Miano admitted his responsibility to the judge. He claimed to have acted alone, but according to the prosecution, he would have had the help of six other individuals, including his father and a law enforcement representative. He was betrayed by a trace left on a pornographic website, which led investigators to his IP address in Rome, where they found him in his hideout in Via delle Sette Chiese, Garbatella.
