Giorgio Capello elected as President of Sicindustria Ragusa, replacing Leonardo Licitra
Giorgio Cappello is the new president of Sicindustria Ragusa. Elected unanimously today, he succeeds Leonardo Licitra and will hold office until 2028. Fifty-four years old, at the helm of “Cappello Group spa” in Ragusa, the family industrial group operating since 1965 and a leader in the sector of aluminum profiles for windows, hot-dip galvanizing, and industrial coatings, Cappello boasts a long experience in the industrial confederation: he has indeed been president of the Young Sicilian Entrepreneurs and of the Regional Committee of Small Industry; vice president of Confindustria Sicilia and member of the National Board and General Council of Confindustria. The deputy vice president will be Mario Molè of Fratelli Molè srl.
“In this period of exceptional complexity,” says Cappello, “I feel the need to make myself available to the association and do my part. Our association is a value for all of us, the effectiveness of its political and organizational representation is recognized and recognizable at all institutional levels. In this regard, I want to thank Leonardo Licitra who has always guaranteed the value of our healthy and industrious territorial delegation. I also thank the president of Sicindustria, Luigi Rizzolo, and all my colleagues for the trust they have shown in me.”
For Cappello, “Sicindustria is called upon to play a fundamental role in the immediate future for the growth of the territorial economy and I am certain that we will be able to contribute with projects and actions to support companies on the focuses that have always been within the scope of our association: industrial relations, environmental impact and ecological transition, industrial development, education. But also, energy and digital transition, organization of supply chains, processes of internationalization. In order to achieve these objectives, the commitment of the entire presidential team and the involvement of all member companies will be essential, each with their own skills, to whom I will ask to strengthen their active presence in the association and to pool experiences and project capabilities on targeted initiatives. Sicindustria Ragusa will be an innovative delegation and could not be otherwise in a context that is changing at an unprecedented pace. It is my task to work to increasingly adapt the representation and services of the association to constantly changing contexts.”
