Gibellina’s candidacy for Italian Art Capital entrusted to Meno Foundation

The foundation Meno, chaired by Roberto Albergoni, has been entrusted with the task of preparing the dossier for the candidacy of Gibellina as the Italian Capital of Contemporary Art 2026. The foundation previously worked on the successful project of Agrigento as the Italian Capital of Culture 2025. The dossier must be submitted by the end of the month. Meetings for co-design are currently taking place in Gibellina, firstly with businesses and economic operators in the area, and then with cultural and social organizations, including Fondazione Orestiadi, Rete Museale e Naturale Belicina, and Cresm.

Meanwhile, the Municipality has approved a project to enhance the Cretto di Burri, funded with 200 thousand euros allocated by the Sicilian Regional Assembly. The executive project was developed by the technical manager of the Municipality, Giuseppe Neri, and technical expert Nicola Agosta. Tourist-advertising signs will be placed throughout the municipal territory, and interventions will also be carried out in three sites in the urban center of Gibellina: piazza Rivolta Siciliana, Sacrario ai Caduti, and Grande Area 85.
