Actress Anna Kanakis, a former Miss Italy, has passed away at the age of 61. Born in Messina, she made history as the first Miss Italy at the age of 15, and went on to have a successful career as an actress, appearing in over 30 films and TV series in the 1980s. She later transitioned to writing, publishing several historical novels. Kanakis also had a brief stint in politics before marrying Marco Merati Foscarini in 2004. Her funeral will be held in Rome on November 24.
