Forest worker dies in overturned truck in Ragusa

A tragic road accident occurred on State Road 194 near Monterosso Almo, in the province of Ragusa. The cause of the accident, in which a forestry worker lost her life, is still being investigated. Emergency responders from the 118 emergency service, firefighters, and the carabinieri were called to the scene. Sadly, there was nothing that could be done to save the woman, whose identity has not yet been released. Her colleague, who was driving the vehicle, was slightly injured and in shock. Investigations are underway to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the accident. The President of the Region, Renato Schifani, expressed his deep sorrow for the death of the forestry worker, highlighting the importance of their role in safeguarding the Sicilian territory and environment. He extended his condolences to the victim’s family and colleagues, and wished a speedy recovery to the other injured workers.
