Filippo’s mother says Mosca and Cammalleri in jail in Bucharest: “The cell is a hole and there are 6 of them”

Filippo Mosca, Luca Cammalleri, from Caltanissetta, and the other Italian girl, whose identity is unknown, have been convicted by Romanian judges in appeal for international drug trafficking to 8 years and 3 months in prison, and have been transferred to Rahova prison in Bucharest.

“On Monday they were taken to the capital’s penitentiary,” said Ornella Matraxia, Filippo’s mother, this morning on Tg1 morning. “I heard from my son for a few minutes on the phone and he told me they are in a small cell with 6 people, they have little space and don’t know where to put clothes and personal effects, and the food continues to be poor. But fortunately, he was left in the company of his friend Luca. Unfortunately, they are facing continued tough prison conditions, so they cannot do other activities and for visits there is a glass barrier separating them.”

The young people were arrested over a year ago in Constanta, Romania, and until last Monday they were held in Porta Alba penitentiary. Along with them was also the Italian girl, their acquaintance, whose identity is unknown, who had the package delivered to the hotel where Mosca and Cammalleri were staying, inside of which instead of cosmetics the police found 150 grams of drugs.

“Now the case is being followed by lawyer Armida Decina of Nessuno Tocchi Caino,” says Matraxia, “who has requested the collaboration of a colleague in Constanta to obtain the entire file, which will be useful to unblock the process of transferring Filippo, Luca, and the girl back to Italy. We ask Minister Tajani and the Italian embassy in Romania to help us bring the boys back to our country.”
