Extraordinary bonuses and performance rewards agreement signed by Sicilian region employees
Aran and trade unions have closed the negotiation on the allocation of overtime and performance bonuses for 2023. The so-called Ford fund, totaling 39 million euros for the approximately 10,600 officials, has been signed in the afternoon. Aran, led by lawyer Accursio Gallo, can now submit the paperwork to the board of auditors, and with all the unions’ signatures, autonomous and confederal, the payment process should be expedited. The average bonus for each regional employee will depend on their position, office, and authorized overtime hours, but it should not be less than a thousand euros net. However, unions anticipate a 20% reduction in performance bonuses this year due to cuts in the funding. Although they signed the agreement, they criticized the government’s management of the negotiation. They fear that the actual payments may be delayed due to uncertain bureaucratic procedures and have requested an urgent meeting with Aran to continue negotiations for the renewal of the sector’s contract.
