The judge of the court of Agrigento, Micaela Raimondo, has validated the arrest and ordered pre-trial detention in prison for 48-year-old Saro Gioacchino Morgana, accused of disfiguring his ex-wife using car battery acid. The accused, who has appointed lawyer Calogero Sferrazza as his defense, is charged with serious personal injury and domestic abuse. The woman suffered burns to her face and shoulders, but her condition is not serious: she was discharged from the hospital 24 hours after admission. The prognosis is 20 days. In the struggle, Morgana was seriously injured: the liquid got on his hands and neck, and he is currently under guard at the Cannizzaro hospital in Catania for severe burns.
