Debora Borgese, 42, Catania journalist, dies after long illness
The journalist Debora Borgese from Catania has passed away at the age of 42. She had worked in the press office of the president of the Sicilian Regional Assembly Gaetano Galvagno and had also been a spokesperson for the mayor of Aci Castello. She had worked in various radio stations, including Radio Zammù, and had collaborated with several news websites, including l’Urlo, where she became the director.
Condolences for the journalist’s passing have been expressed by the Sicilian parliamentary press community, who “stand by the family and friends of Debora Borgese, the 42-year-old colleague who passed away today after fighting against a illness that did not stop her from hoping and did not dampen her will to live.”
Galvagno, the president of the Sicilian Regional Assembly, wrote a message on Facebook expressing his condolences and saying, “It is not easy to find words to express what you feel when you lose someone dear to you, especially if they are a volcano who has been by your side since the beginning of your journey as a regional deputy. Debora fought as only she knew how to stay on this earth but she couldn’t make it. We keep postponing things for later when we don’t understand that life slips away quickly and should be enjoyed moment by moment. You will be greatly missed, may the earth be light upon you. Goodbye Debora.”
