Death of entrepreneur Lorenzo Marinese in Palermo, former president of Venezia Calcio.

Lorenzo Marinese, an entrepreneur from Palermo who was president of Florence airport in the 1970s and owner of Venezia football club in the 2005-2006 season, has passed away at the age of 86. He was born in Palermo and after studying law, he worked in Africa building hospitals and important infrastructure for local communities. He later worked in civil aviation in Italy and was president of Guaraldo company from 1998 to 2012. In Sicily, he contributed to the development of Palermo airport, the hospital in Ragusa, and the Verdura resort in Sciacca. He leaves behind his wife Adriana, children Gian Lorenzo, Vincenzo, Cristiano, and Rugiada, and 6 grandchildren. The funeral will be held today at Santa Maria Maggiore church in Treviso. The Venezia football club expressed their condolences for Marinese’s passing, remembering his role in saving the club from bankruptcy and leading them to promotion in the 2005-2006 season.
