Coast guard of Catania rescues two sailors near Crotone

A coast guard helicopter from Catania intervened about 80 nautical miles south of Crotone to rescue two German brothers who had jumped into the sea because their 10-meter sailing boat was taking on water and at risk of sinking due to the inefficiency of the bilge pumps. The aerial intervention was requested due to unfavorable weather conditions with high waves and strong winds. The helicopter rescued the brothers and transported them to Crotone airport, where an ambulance was waiting for them. They were then taken care of by medical personnel.
