Close call in Marina di Modica: car overturns, nearly hitting workers on site
An automobile driver lost control of the car and veered off the road, causing the vehicle to overturn and end up in a field where some workers were present. A tragedy was narrowly avoided near Marina di Modica this morning, April 16, where the driver was seriously injured. The workers who were performing some maintenance work in a countryside area were not hit by chance: the car fell from the road from a height of at least four meters. After moments of fear, the workers were the ones to raise the alarm. Within a few minutes, the emergency medical services arrived on the scene and transported the man who was driving the vehicle to the hospital. The intervention of the fire brigade was also necessary to extract him from the car, while the carabinieri initiated an investigation to reconstruct the dynamics of the impact. It was the umpteenth serious accident in that stretch of road: a few months ago, two cars collided and the driver of one of the vehicles was taken to the hospital in critical condition. According to the reconstruction of the crash, one of the vehicles had crossed into the opposite lane, causing the impact.
