The Curia of Cefalù organized a symbolic initiative against the emergency of wildfires that caused serious damage to the Madonie forest and the death of a woman this summer. On Monday, November 20th, the bishop and mayors of the area will meet in Contrada Monte, devastated by the fires. The event aims to spread “new signs of life” for a “possible rebirth”. This was also the bishop’s appeal in a recent message: “Rebirth is really possible. Let’s walk and plant together. We must move from lament to commitment.” On Monday, an oak will be planted in the areas affected by the fires. The bishop will also offer seeds of new plants as symbolic “seeds of life”.
