Caught thanks to police app, must serve 6 months

The State Police in Catania arrested a 46-year-old man who had to serve a definitive sentence of 6 months and 21 days for tax-related crimes, as well as a fine of 60,000 euros. An arrest warrant had been issued against him. He was involved in an investigation into an alleged illegal business involving the supply, transport, and storage of diesel fuel for vehicles. The man was apprehended in a hotel after an alert from the police’s operational room, which detects the presence of fugitives or individuals with legal actions against them staying in accommodation facilities.
