Catania: Two teenagers arrested for scooter theft thanks to tattoos
Explain in short the following article
They steal a scooter, but they were betrayed by the tattoos on their calves and arms. Two young men from Catania, aged 17 and 20, with previous convictions, were identified and reported by the police for the crime of aggravated theft in collusion. The investigation stemmed from the report filed by the owner of the motorcycle at the Nesima police station. In particular, the man reported having parked the two-wheeled vehicle inside a gas station, on Via Palermo, and when he returned to take the scooter back, it was gone. At that point, the police launched an investigation and promptly obtained the recordings from the surveillance system inside the gas station.
A careful examination of the images allowed the agents to discover the dynamics of the events, identifying the perpetrators who, after arriving at the service area on a scooter, committed the theft while taking advantage of the moment when the owner of the stolen motorcycle had entered the tobacco shop in the gas station. The tattoos on their calves and arms, captured by the cameras, betrayed the pair, details that, along with consulting the databases available to the investigators, definitively identified the perpetrators of the theft. The young men were reported for aggravated theft in collusion.
