Catania judge Iolanda Apostolico to continue handling migrants

There will be no changes in the internal organization of the court in Catania. Iolanda Apostolico, the judge who did not validate the detention of 4 Tunisians and who was involved in controversy for participating in a protest against former Minister Salvini’s immigration policies, will reportedly remain in the specialized group for human rights and immigration. The court’s presidency could potentially modify the office’s organizational charts, but there is no intention to do so at the moment. The judge may choose to abstain from certain cases, and the possibility of recusal by the parties involved remains.
