Casteldaccia massacre: Alcamo mourns Epifanio Alsazia, first of five workers killed in tank

Family members, friends, acquaintances, civil and military authorities, fellow citizens of Alcamo and Partinico packed the Mother Church of Alcamo this morning for the final farewell to Epifanio Alsazia, partner and co-owner of Quadrifoglio Group, who died in the workplace tragedy in Casteldaccia last Monday. Alsazia, 71 years old, was originally from Partinico and had been living in Alcamo for many years. The funeral was co-celebrated by Monsignor Aldo Giordano, along with Father Enzo Santoro, Father Enzo Lo Sardo, and Father Francesco Paolo Biondolillo. Moments of heartbreaking grief for Alsazia’s family: his widow Rosetta Trovato, his two children Salvatore and Daniela, and his grandchildren. Also present were municipal administrators of Alcamo, Partinico, and Castellammare del Golfo. The mayor of Alcamo declared citywide mourning for today and next Monday, lowering the flags to half-mast in condolence for Epifanio Alsazia and Roberto Raneri. Raneri’s funeral will be held next Monday at 4 pm in the courtyard of the Salesian parish of Anime Sante in Alcamo.
