Car wash in Sciacca closed, employed workers off the books

A car wash in Sciacca (Agrigento) was closed by the carabinieri of the Labor Inspectorate Unit, who discovered that the 2 employees working there were both working “under the table”. A third irregular worker was also found in another establishment. This measure is part of a series of inspections that targeted 5 car washes in total and revealed other irregularities. Two business owners have been reported to the prosecutor’s office for negligence in health surveillance, failure to provide safety equipment for workers, and lack of training and information. The sanctioned companies have been fined and administratively penalized for a total amount of 64,000 euros.
