Allarme bomba in via Libertà a Palermo: strada chiusa, artificieri in azione

Fear in Via Libertà for a bomb scare, the street was closed. A citizen reportedly reported the presence of a vehicle battery abandoned near a sidewalk. The intervention was requested at the beginning of the street, shortly after the Politeama Theater in the direction of the Statue. Police bomb disposal experts arrived on the scene to determine what it is and clear the area.

Meanwhile, the section was closed to vehicle traffic and pedestrians, to allow the experts to intervene safely. Long lines have formed: traffic is slowed both on Via Libertà and along the surrounding streets.

A few weeks ago, another bomb alarm went off at Amap on Via Volturno: an anonymous phone call had been received by the presidency office announcing the presence of an explosive device in the building. The company had notified the authorities who intervened by ordering the evacuation of the building and calling the bomb disposal experts. After about an hour, the alarm was lifted and the employees returned to their places.
