Body found in the sea at Vulcano, had been in the water for two months.

In Vulcano, a corpse was recovered from the sea by the coast guard off Gelso. The report was made by a passing yachtsman off the island. Lieutenant of vessel of the maritime district office of Lipari, Mario De Bellis, upon receiving the report, sent two patrol boats and coast guard personnel to the sea area, and after finding the body, proceeded with the recovery. The corpse was in an advanced state of decomposition and it is presumed to have been in the water for two to three months. Among the first hypotheses, it is thought to be the body of a migrant dragged by the rough seas to the seaside village of the Aeolian Island. However, the relevant authorities have initiated investigations to verify if there are any missing persons. The body has been transferred to Lipari in the mortuary room of the cemetery and is at the disposal of the judicial authority.
