The president of the DC of Agrigento, as well as city councilor of Canicattì, Giuseppe Alaimo, 29 years old, is among the 72 suspects of the Ianus investigation by the Dda of Nissena, which led to the notification of 54 out of 55 precautionary measures signed by the judge and carried out by the police at dawn yesterday.

Alaimo, owner of a car dealership, is being investigated for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, with the aggravating factor of having favored the mafia association. According to the accusation, he purchased a quantity of cocaine from a member of the Gela clan, Mirko Salvatore Rapisarda, to sell.

“We only learned from the media – said lawyer Giacinto Paci – about the existence of the investigation against my client who has not received anything and therefore does not know the extent of the accusations. After seeing the documents, he will be willing to contribute to ascertain the truth and clarify his position. He has voluntarily suspended himself from party organs.”
